So who am I?
Welcome! My name is James and I am the founder of Digital Lychee, an affordable, superior website design service based in the South West of the UK, working with clients across the world. Since 2019, I have been building unique websites for a wide range of clients from individuals to larger businesses, charities and more, who are always at the centre of my work.

Our Journey Together
1. The Video Chat
First, we’ll arrange a video chat or a phone call so we can talk about how best I can help you. We’ll talk about you and your organisation, logo & branding, whether you need a new or refreshed website, its design, domains, hosting, security, your budget and much more. It’ll also give you the confidence to know that I am the right web designer for you.
2. The Quote
After our chat, I’ll put together a quote for you. It’ll take into account everything we have discussed in our chat, including your budget. I always make sure that my pricing is fully transparent and up-front, so that you don’t have any nasty surprises further down the line. There’ll be a client contract for you to sign once you’ve accepted the quote and asked me to go ahead, although that’s just there to protect both of us and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions before you do so.
3. The Designs
I will always give you the opportunity to see some designs before I begin the build. The kind of designs I show you will depend on the package you’ve chosen. For example, if you have gone with the Personal or Business package, they are both template-based, which means I’ll be able to send through to you live, interactive demos which contain dummy content. If you’ve gone for the Bespoke package, then I’ll put together a mockup of the design for you to see.
4. The Content
As you know your business or organisation best, I always advise that you provide me with the relevant content for the website, including wording and images. Of course, I appreciate you won’t always be able to do that, so have no fear! I can provide all the copyrighting and photography services you’ll need for your website, although we’ll need to agree a separate quote for this.
5. The Build
This is where the fun starts and you get to see your website come to life, through a collaborative and iterative process. If it’s a brand new website you’re after, I will first create a ‘Coming Soon’ page for you with things like contact information, so that people can still get in touch with you. Whether you want a new or refreshed website, I’ll then set up what’s known as a ‘Staging’ site, so that your site can be developed away from public view, until you’re ready for it to be published.
6. The Publishing
Once you’re happy with the design and content of your website, and search engine optimisation work has been completed, that’s when I’ll publish your website for you. I’ll also add your website to my own website and social media channels, as well as working with the various search engines, to start attracting those all-important visitors!
7. The Ongoing Support
With your website now published, I would love to continue to support you through my website maintenance plan. Whilst it does come at an extra cost, it’s absolutely worth it, just for that peace of mind, knowing your website is being taken care of. Even if you choose not to take out my maintenance plan, you’ll always have my support, except you’ll need to pay my ad-hoc support fees.
